While most public schools within the United Stated, that allow corporal punishment, are governed by the rules set forth by the district school board, the same does not hold true for a private school. This is even to the point that in states in which corporal punishment is not allowed, private institutions may still use it. With the majority of private school having a strong Christian influence, school paddling is more often the norm as a means to administer discipline. They will typically have a written corporal punishment policy, but it is created without any influence from a governing board outside the walls of their schools. With the majority of private schools either being religious based, or a school for a somewhat troubled teen, the paddle is not only alive and well in these schools, it is used liberally.
Let’s take a quick peek at the policies of a couple of private schools. The first one is a school in which students who have found themselves in a lot of trouble in the public school, are sent by their parents:
13. CORPORAL DISCIPLINE POLICY:
When all other forms of discipline have not produce the desired change in behavior and attitude, corporal discipline (swats) may be administered. A maximum of five (5) consecutive correctly received swats upon the buttocks may be administered. Correctly received swats are those in which the student exhibits a submissive attitude, as determined by the administrator of the corporal discipline. This submissive attitude must be exhibited throughout the discipline session. A maximum of fifteen (15) swats of any kind, whether correctly received or incorrectly received, may be administered in a twenty-four hour period. The Superintendent or any other adult staff member (who is of the same gender as your child) that the Superintendent shall designate will administer the corporal discipline. A flat paddle is used to administer the corporal discipline. The student will remain clothed for the entire procedure. Each incident of corporal discipline will be duly witnessed by another adult staff member (of the same gender).

But all five of the swats must be “correctly received”, which means they have to remain in position and fully submit to their paddling. A swat that is not “correctly received” may be repeated. This means a single paddling, in which a young lady in unable to maintain her position, can quickly become a much longer paddling. Even if she is able to hold her position while her bottom is being paddled, this school is strict enough, that there is the possibility that she could be paddled up to two additional times in a single day. This certainly gives the school plenty of options, during any given 24 hour period, to properly bruise a teen girl’s bottom.
The policies below are from a private Christian school, in which no student can even be admitted if the parents will not commit to their child being paddled; it is as simple as that. What makes this school even more unique, is that the parent has to come to the school and do the paddling themselves. Below is the consent form and the specific rules governing the parent paddling their child at school:

Under no circumstance will any student be admitted, or re-registered in the L*** Baptist Academy without the completion of this form. It is an agreement that the parent will adhere to, and support the Corporal Punishment procedures of LBA.

As a parent of, ____________________________, enrolled in LBA, I realize that it is a privilege and not a right. I understand that if at any time my child refuses to accept their punishment, or if I refuse to administer their punishment; my child will be expelled from LBA. If a student requires a spanking, the parent must complete it the next school day. The office will explain why a spanking is necessary and must be completed by the parent in the Principal’s Office. The student will not be allowed to attend class the following day until it has been issued.

This is indeed a very unique situation as we now have a school taking full control over how a student will be paddled and the parents now have to do it as the school is required. It is very clear, if the student will not submit to a paddling, or the parents refuse to administer it, the student is expelled from the school. This young lady is not only going to be paddled by her mom or dad, in front of a school administrator, but she has to submit to it 100%, or the paddling does not count. The girl being paddled is not really even allowed to make any noise, or move in any way during her paddling. This is the 1st school policy I have ever read in which is a girl does not cooperate completely during the process of having her bottom paddled, then the paddling will just continue. But beyond the young lady having to cooperate 100%, the school actually gets to decide how hard she is to be paddled be her parent. It clearly states that the swats have to be administered “to the satisfaction of the designee”, which can only mean that if you do not paddle your daughter hard enough, you will have to do it again.

This policy really has a way of modifying a policy of 5 maximum swats, and basically assures that the school gets to make sure that the paddling a student receives is a very memorable one. Picture the young lady at this very strict religious school, sent to the office for a basic infraction. Being that just about every offense I looked at in the student handbook will result in a paddling, this means that any trip to the office means she will be paddled. She is given a corporal punishment form and told to take it home. The next morning, she arrives at school with mom or dad, and waits nervously with her parent, as the school finds a designee to oversee her paddling. The three of them go into the room where paddlings take place, and under the direction of the school designee, she is put into position and her parent is handed a heavy wooden school paddle. The parent is then told how many swats to give their child, and she is reminded that she has to remain in position, and fully accept everything that she is about to receive. Her mom then takes the paddle in her hand and applies the 1st swat to her daughter’s bottom. It is at this point that the school official gets to make the decision as to whether she accepted the swat properly. If she moved, made too much noise, stood up, or even “wiggled”, the school official can inform the parent and the student that the swat did not count. Picture the young lady who is still spanked severely by her dad at home, and he always has to hold her in place during her punishment. This is a whole new world for her, having to not only fully submit to her punishment, but to cooperate. Being smacked hard on the bottom hurts a lot, especially for a teenage girl, and it is quite hard not to make much sound during a proper paddling. But this paddling, at this school, will not end until she learns to do exactly that. The five swat paddling she had coming, might have turned into a ten, or even twenty swat paddling, until she learns to properly submit.

as having been hard enough. The five swats, that she struggles with a few of, became eight swats before it was all over. But when it was completed, the school official has the power to tell the parent that the paddling was nowhere near hard enough. Remember, this is a very religious school, which believes very strongly in “Biblical discipline”, which rarely involves an ornamental paddling. These are the types of schools that believe that a proper spanking involves breaking the will of the child. So after her eight swats, three of which she struggled with and was unable to properly submit, she hears the school designee tell her mom that the paddling was nowhere near hard enough and that it has to be repeated. At this point the entire process starts all over again, and with the swats being much harder this time around, there is a good chance that she will struggle with most of them, thus requiring them to be repeated. Basically, this paddling will not be over until the school administrator has made sure that the young lady being paddled leaves with a very sore and bruised bottom and having learned a very real lesson.
This is a very unique situation, but in reality, most paddlings in private school are administered by a principal, administrator, or a teacher. The primary differences in paddlings administered in the public school and private school tend to be frequency and severity. These differences exist mostly because of parental support for corporal punishment. Parents that seek out a private Christian school, deeply rooted in the teachings of the Bible, typically do not oppose the use of corporal punishment. In fact, most of them frequently use corporal punishment in the raising of their daughters, in their own home. They actively seek out an educational environment that is a good extension as to their personal beliefs. There is an expectation that if their child misbehaves at school, that they will be punished as set forth in the Bible. This really frees up a school from all of the concerns of lawsuits and protests from parents about a girl being paddled. It also allows a school to paddle in a way that is much more effective in changing behavior.
In a public school setting, a teen girl, after getting paddled at school, might come home and show her mom her bruised butt, complaining that she was paddled at school and that it was far too hard. Her mom then gets on the phone, calls the press, calls the school, and begins the kind of uproar that we see regularly on the news. This is not the case when it comes to a paddling administered at a private Christian school. A girl that is sent home from school after a hard paddling, with a bruised bottom, is more likely to get it again at home from her parents. Strict Christian parents see a bruised bottom from getting in trouble at school, as a good starting place for a session with dad’s belt. They see it as an opportunity for some real learning to take place and are more than willing to make sure that her bottom feels much more in the way of discipline.

increased. A typical public school policy will state “corporal punishment will only be used when other methods of discipline have proven to be ineffective”. This means that after a student has had a few detentions, and maybe some ISS, that eventually her bottom might be paddled. But in a private school, a young lady’s first trip to the office, and every trip after that, will result in her bottom being paddled. They tend to take the opposite approach in that after she was paddled once, on her second offense she is paddled again, and also receives detention. The one common thread is that if she gets in any trouble, big or small, her bottom will pay the price.
Think of the first school policy that I mentioned above, in which a student cannot receive more than 5 licks at a time, with a maximum of 15 in a 24 hour period. This means that at some point in time, those in charge of the school’s policy, needed to come up with a policy that allowed a student to be paddled as many as 3 times a day. This school is a school in which the students live there full-time, which allows flexibility for paddlings outside of classroom hours. In a public school setting a girl who misbehaves frequently, might find herself paddled a few times over a typical school year. But it is clear from this school’s policies, that she might find herself paddled every day, if not more often than that. They clearly believe that a bruised bottom is an effective learning tool and they do not hesitate to provide it as often as is needed. Just take a look at the very 1st line of the contract that the parent must sign when enrolling their student at this institution:
I/We understand that the structure and rules under which my/our child will be educated and trained are very strict.
Corner time still happens in private Christian schools.
Simply the inclusion of the word “trained” makes it clear that some butts are going to end up very sore and the methods they use are not just strict, they are “very strict”. But for additional perspective, let’s take quick look at the “demerits” system. Having gone through their complete student and parent handbooks, it is quite clear that just about every offense that results in a “demerit” will result in a five swat paddling. Below is the policy for a student that had 10 demerits in a week. This is a list of the additional punishment a student will face after a week consisting of 10 demerits, which results in them being placed “on discipline” for the next week. It is clearly common enough that there is an entire policy of additional punishment that will last for an entire week. But what we really need to consider, is that to have been placed “on discipline” that means 10 demerits. Being that a single demerit results in a five swat paddling, this means every student who is “on discipline” typically received at least 50 paddle swats the week before. That is also assuming that the 50+ swats they were administered were “correctly received”. The 5 swat paddling could have easily resulted in as many as 15 if she did not submit properly to her paddling. And if you think that corner time is something for toddlers, or only exists in British spanking videos, think again. Look at the fourth option for a young lady who is “on discipline” for the week. She is to stand in her dorm room, with her nose touching the bed for a period of one hour. What is even more interesting is that there is a 10 minute “sit down break each hour”. This would lead me to believe that corner time can last well beyond the initial hour, if there are hourly breaks. I am also guessing that a girl “on discipline” and in corner time for a few hours, that does not maintain her position, will probably be getting her bottom paddled as well. They are also clear in stating that when a student is “on discipline” that all of the things stated below, “will be included”, not “may be included”.
If the student has more than ten (10) demerits in a week then she is placed on discipline for the following week. This discipline will include:
- Loss of desserts and seconds during meals
- Loss of all extra-curricular activities including but not limited to field trips, basketball, volleyball, tennis racquetball, baseball, Ping-Pong, pool, foosball, and swimming.
- Various forms of physical training which include but are not limited to the following: jumping jacks, push-ups, sit-ups, squats, hops, leg lifts, crawls, running, carrying cinder blocks, or all of the above.
- Standing with your child’s nose touching the end of your child’s bed for a time period of 1 hour with a 10-minute sit-down break each hour. This is excluding any regularly scheduled activities and school time.
- An altered menu of bland foods will be issued at the discretion of the staff in conjunction with the above referenced discipline measures.
So if you ever find yourself wondering is corporal punishment is alive and well in the US school system, there is no doubt it is more than a common occurrence. The primary goal, of corporal punishment in school, is to provide pain to a girl’s bottom. There are many more dynamics involved, but the reality is that most people do not like pain. He could simply have her bend over, and swing as long and hard as he needed, and not stop until her bottom was bruised and she was crying sufficiently to assure a lesson was learned.
In today’s school setting, even in the schools in which corporal punishment is used more liberally, there are still a specific set of guidelines that a teacher, coach, or administrator must follow. Almost all schools define the dimensions of the paddle to be used to correct a young lady’s behavior. Gone are the days of 1” thick paddles that can get the job done in as little as three swats. Most districts are very clear on what type of paddle that can be used. Here is an example from the 2013 school policies from a 9th-12th grade high school in Alabama:
“A wooden paddle approximately 24 inches in length, 3 inches wide and ½ inch thick is recommended. Paddles with holes, cracks, splinters, tape or other foreign material shall not be used for corporal punishment”. The student shall remove any objects in back pockets and/or remove outer garments before the punishment is administered. A teacher who is “not comfortable administering corporal punishment” may ask another teacher to do it. The witness should preferably be of the same sex as the student. Parents shall be given the right to exempt their children, but “should the parent fail to notify the principal, it shall be understood that the student may be corporally punished”.
A 24” paddle in indeed an effective length, but ½” thick is just barely enough to get the job done. Just as with the dimensions of the paddle, the maximum number of “licks” that can be administered are generally quite specific. While some schools are still quite liberal with this number, such as another school policy from Alabama:
“A first office referral means 60 minutes’ detention or “six swats with a paddle”; a second referral, 80 minutes or eight swats; a third, 100 minutes or 10 swats.”
This is a pretty good policy and certainly enough to get the job done. I would guess that they do not see as many referrals to the office as many other schools, as a young lady contemplating that her very 1st referral to the school office will result in six swats to her bottom, might indeed have an effect on her behavior. But this is not a typical school paddling policy, as most schools have 3-5 as the maximum number of swats allowed. This leaves a school administrator a little limited in what they are able to accomplish when paddling a young lady’s bottom. A good school administrator, the one tasked with the issue of handling school discipline, often has to be a little more creative when it comes to the application of corporal punishment. While the end result will always be physical pain applied to a teen girl’s bottom, there are many things that they can do to supplement the actual paddling. Let’s explore some of the ways to make the overall paddling experience more effective.
Clearly, every school paddling will indeed end in the same way, with a girl’s bottom being paddled, but the path that is taken to get there can really add to the effectiveness of the punishment. From the moment she is sent from class, and walking down the hall with a pink slip in her hand, her thoughts are focused on, “will I get paddled for this”? This is what makes a school paddling so effective; girls do not want to have their bottoms smacked with a big wooden board. If they grew up in the South, where most school paddlings take place, chances are she was spanked as a kid. It might have been the week before, or it may have been ten years before, but she has enough experience to know that a spanking is not pleasant. As she hands over her pink slip, her hand is less than an inch away from the paddle, and it becomes her entire focus. For that first minute, nothing exists in her mind except that paddle. Regardless of how strict her parents were and what they spanked her with when she was growing up, nothing seems quite as intimidating as that two foot long piece of wood in front of her. For the young lady who only ever got a smack from mom’s hand on her butt when she was a toddler, that paddle looks like the end of the world for her bottom. Being creative with telling her that she is going to be paddled, will also help to build an overall experience that she will do everything to avoid. The more he is able to talk about the paddling she will be receiving, the better for the experience. To simply tell her that her offenses require him to paddle her, and then to have her stand up and bend over, is doing her a disservice. As he is weighing the options, it is very effective for him to pick up the paddle and hold it. I do not think it is out of line for the principal to reference how effective and painful a paddling really can be. Comments like “we probably could handle this with detention, but my experience has shown that you would be less likely to return to my office after you have shed a few tears”, or “there is nothing like a very sore bottom, for a few days, to serve as a deterrent to prevent you from returning to my office” tend to be very effective. She is now faced with the reality that this paddling will not only hurt, but that she will cry, and that her butt will be sore for days. If the increased heart rate and shaking hands had not started up to this point, they most certainly would now. This also helps prevent her from shrugging the whole thing off, and trying to convince herself that it will not be that bad.
When he finally announces his decision to her, that she will indeed be paddled, he needs to really play it up. It cannot come across as a casual event, but one that he has given great thought to, and as much pain as he knows he will be providing her, that it is probably the best thing for her overall development. Creative administrators are able to make all of the moments leading up to the paddling, as bad as the event itself. Informing her that he is allowed to give as many as six swats for any given offense, and that he feels that would be best for this situation, really lets the whole thing sink in. She is not only going to be paddled, she is going to get the worst case scenario paddling, and if this is explained in the right way, at for some girls, the tears may begin here. A paddling, in which she is crying minutes before it even starts, is highly effective. Once again, she will not just look back and reflect on the pain she experienced, but all of the emotions she felt building up to the actual event.

chances of future transgressions, so the buildup to the paddling should not end here. Many principals would paddle her bottom right there on the spot, but it is more effective for there to be a gap before she is punished. There are some principals that administer all of their paddlings at the end of the day, or even the end of the week. This allows for hours, or sometimes days, or dread and apprehension. She gets to fully process that she will cry, she will be sore, and that she will be getting the maximum number of swats for quite some time. At the very least, he should send her out of his office, to sit in the main office, until he can find the time to take care of her bottom. She then gets to sit in the chairs, watching the rest of the students and office staff going about their daily business. Only she knows that she is sitting there waiting to be spanked with a paddle at school. She is able to think about that giant paddle, think about the last time she was spanked and how that felt, and to fully consider how she will react to her paddling. Thoughts of how hard he swings, what position she will be made to assume, and how will she survive it will consume her. The paddle has not even touched her bottom yet, and she is making promises to herself to never again, make a decision that puts her in this situation.

Another very effective approach, especially when someone is called back later in the day to be paddled, is that of actually having to hear the process take place. For the principals that bring every student to be paddled back at the same time, it becomes quite a challenge for those that have to listen. It allows everything in their mind, and the anticipation of this event, to become reality. While many schools have a policy that a student cannot be paddled in the visual presence of another student, this does not mean that other students are not allowed to hear a paddling take place. Many principals leave their door cracked, so it is clear to anyone present in the main office what is taking place on the other side of the door. It serves as a very real deterrent to other students, even those not in trouble, what happens if they find themselves in trouble. But for the young lady, who has been waiting all day, or all week to be paddled, and dreading every second of it, actually hearing it take place brings it all home. If you have ever been paddled in school, or have heard one take place, there is nothing quiet about it. Most principal’s offices are small and often made with cinderblock walls. There is not a lot of soft furniture, or curtains, or anything else that absorbs sounds. The hard crack of a paddle on a student’s bottom has a way of amplifying in that tiny office and echoing throughout the entire front office. It is not a distant and muffled sound; it sounds more like a gunshot. Even a moderate paddling has a tendency to sound like the end of the world to a teen girl waiting for her turn. With a cracked door, the sound is further carried, and as she hears each swat, she knows that her turn is coming.

overall process, is the sound she hears after the echo of the paddle swat. Sure, guys will do their best to suck it up during a paddling, but girls are usually not quite as successful. If the principal is doing his job well, there will be a vocal reaction after each paddle swat, from every girl paddled. The girl in the chair hears the lick land, then hears the girl being paddled, gently cry out…at first. When that second swat lands, she now hears more of a muffled scream, as she deals with the very real pain of the paddling. If the principal is really doing a good and proper job of paddling, after the third swat, the girl waiting her turn will hear crying from inside the office. When it is all over, she can’t help but watch the girl who was just paddled, leave the office, with her makeup a mess, her eyes red and swollen, still wiping the tears from her eyes. Everything that she has tried to convince herself, about how the paddling will not be so bad, has all gone out the window. She now knows it will be the worst case scenario, she knows that he was not kidding about the tears, and she has no doubt from what she just heard that her butt will indeed be bruised and sore. The anticipation of being paddled is a very effective step and one that should not be ignored.
A proper and effective school paddling should not just be painful, but it should be embarrassing. At all times the girl should be treated with respect and at no point should she feel humiliated during any part of the process. But let’s face it, a high school girl will do just about anything to keep from being embarrassed and will go well out of her way to make sure she is never in that situation. So if being embarrassed is something that she will go to great lengths to avoid, then it should most certainly be part of the punishment. There are many ways that school administrators can accomplish this task. One of the simplest ways this is accomplished is through the verbal exchange prior to her paddling. When she is finally called into the office for her paddling, there can be an element in which she is made to feel like a young girl. After all, she is in trouble at school, and she is going to get a spanking for it, so why not remind her of that fact. Even better, remind her of that fact while she is still waiting in the lobby to be paddled. Embarrassment comes very quickly if he opens the door to his office, and in front of everyone present, he announces to her that “it is time for your spanking”. By calling it a spanking, and not a paddling, she is once again, taken back to that place in her childhood when mommy would give her a spanking. Every eye in the office goes right to her, as she turns 10 shades of red, and stands up and walks to his office. This is no longer the private paddling that she has been dreading, this is now a very public “spanking” in which every student that was in the office now knows about. The word of a girl getting paddled at school tends to travel fast, and before the end of the day, everyone will know it was her bottom that was spanked.

Adding embarrassment to the whole situation can also be accomplished by positioning and timing. When she walks into his office and he says “OK, let’s get your bottom spanked”, he then tells her what position to assume. Making it as easy as having her bend over his desk, does not serve the purpose well. Why give her a somewhat comfortable and stable position to be paddled in, when he can take the steps to make her feel uncomfortable and embarrassed? The very best position is clearly to have her grab her ankles. This makes her feel exposed and very vulnerable, and at the very least is not comfortable at all. This puts her bottom on display like no other position there is, and she becomes even more aware of what part of her body is about to feel the discipline. It is also very embarrassing, as she is now a grown woman, but her actions have led her to a situation in which a man can order her to bend over and to stick her bottom up into the air. There is no other situation in her life, where someone else has this type of control over her body, and as she is there grabbing her ankles, she is most definitely embarrassed that it is taking place.

this can also be revisited just prior to her actual paddling. Now that she is in the middle of his office, grabbing her ankles, bottom properly presented for a hard paddling, as much as she does not want to be paddled, at this point she just wants to get it all over with. The position itself is uncomfortable, her bottom is very much on display, and she just wants it to be over. This is the perfect time for the principal to fill out the paperwork that most schools require whenever corporal punishment is administered. This gives her a final few minutes to consider everything she has done and all of the events leading up to this moment. You can ask anyone who was spanked at home or in school, what was the worst part of their punishment, with the exception of the pain, and just about every one of them will tell you it was the last few moments waiting for it to begin. Everyone, when they know there is no escaping a spanking, just want to get it over with as soon as possible. But the high school girl with her ass up in the air, waiting for her paddling, should not be allowed this luxury, and the more time she spends grabbing her ankles and waiting, the more effective the overall experience will be for her.
Once a sufficient amount of time has passed, and it is time for her bottom to be paddled, a few nicely worded sentences can help to really bring the point home. It is very effective to remind her how much it is going to hurt. Instead of him just walking up to her and starting to paddle her bottom, imagine how much more effective the following would be:

“It is very important that you remain in position for the duration of your paddling. The only way this paddling will produce the desired results, is if I paddle your bottom as hard as I possibly can. We want to provide as much pain as possible to your bottom, but we need to limit it to that part of your body. If you start moving around, I may end up hitting you somewhere else, and that can be dangerous. With you grabbing your ankles, it is important you keep your hands on your ankles, as that helps with stability. I am quite sure that you will be crying from the very beginning, but please keep your hands on your ankles until the paddling is over, you can wipe your tears when we are done.”
For the young lady who just spent the last three minutes convincing herself that it would not be that bad, those thoughts are instantly shattered. He has made it clear that this will not be gentle, that it will hurt like hell, and that he knows for a fact that she will indeed cry. Now everything has come together, and all that is left is for her bottom to be paddled.
While everything that has led up to this moment, over the last several minutes, hours, or days, can indeed make the overall paddling experience effective, the biggest factor on whether a paddling will be an effective deterrent is how much it hurts. A principal can utilize anticipation, embarrassment, and many other elements all day long, but if it is not followed up with a truly memorable and painful paddling, then all is lost. It is also very important that the pain from the paddling does not end after the paddling. This is also where paddle selection, and more importantly, paddle thickness really comes into play. A ¼” thick paddle, when applied over jeans, does have the ability to hurt. But that pain is going to come in the form of sting, and six good swats with a thin paddle can produce a lot of sting. The downside is that an hour after the paddling, the sting is gone, and the punishment ends right there. What is the point of putting so much time and effort into providing her with an experience that she will never forget, and never want repeated, if the paddling itself was simply one minute of pain to her bottom? Teen girls are pretty good at wiping things from their minds when it is behind them, so the paddling needs to be something that she cannot just ignore when it is over.
A principal, who is good at his job, will take all of this into account, and do his best to make sure that when the paddling is over that the punishment is just getting started. This is best accomplished by using the thickest and heaviest paddle that the district will allow and by applying each and every lick with maximum effort. Each paddle swat, from the very first to the very last, needs to be applied just as hard. There is no reason for there to be some sort of warm-up, beginning with a few swats that are not as hard as the rest. There is also no reason to do what many principals do and make the last swat harder than the rest. The goal is a very sore bottom, and with a limited amount of swats to get her to that point, full force throughout is necessary and also best for her development. Also, a severe paddling tends to numb a girl’s bottom pretty quickly, so the first few swats are the ones she is really going to feel. The goal is long term soreness, but care should be taken that while the paddling is taking place that it hurts as much as possible. For safety reasons, and to provide as much long term soreness as possible, all of the swats are applied to the exact same spot on her bottom. This keeps the paddle far from her tailbone, and also assures that the part of her bottom that touches the seat is the part that ends up bruised and sore. Six to ten swats, to her sit spot, will provide the tears required as part of the learning process, and will make sure that the learning continues for several days.

We are now able to see the potential that a proper school paddling has to make a high school girl’s bottom sore. There is no doubt, based on those pictures, that after a good school paddling that a young lady will not just forget about the experience. A proper school paddling will indeed lead to several days of her bottom being sore. She will not walk out of the office, dry off her tears, and then that is the end of it. Instead of the sting wearing off in an hour, the sting will now be replaced with a soreness that continues to grow. As each hour of the day passes, she will begin to feel a little more pain to her bottom. Sitting will begin to become more uncomfortable as she shifts around in the hard wooden school desks, trying to find a position that feels better. The real learning begins the next day, and this is also why a hard paddling with a proper paddle is important. The morning after a good and hard school paddling, the moment that she wakes up, she is going to be reminded of her punishment. Her bottom will be the as sore as it is going to get the next morning, and instead of waking up, barely aware of the prior day’s event, the first thing she is going to think of is the paddling, her sore bottom, and what she did that earned her that prize. For that day, and probably a couple more after, she is going to be living her punishment every single minute of the day. When she sits down to go to the bathroom, she is going to remember what she did wrong. As she decides that maybe tight jeans are not the way to go that day, she will be thinking of her paddling. But the best part of her learning process will take place that day at school. The desks, which just the day before she struggled to find a way to get comfortable, are now a very real source of pain for her. It is not just uncomfortable for her to sit; it hurts in every sense of the word. The punishment she was given, even though it was the day before, is nowhere close to being over. With every beat of her heart, there is a painful throbbing to her little bottom, and she is reminded that it is best to be well behaved at school.

While the pain is ongoing, it is not the only part of the punishment that continues after the paddling. If there was any sort of public aspect to her paddling, such as the principal calling her into the office and announcing it was time for her paddling, then there is a very good chance that the word spread around school. Students love to gossip and when it comes to some cute 18 year old high school senior getting her pretty bottom paddled, you can count on that news traveling fast. Not only is she sitting in class with a sore bottom, but the other students in the class know that her butt is indeed bruised and sore. When she winces in pain, each time she sits, someone will be there to giggle a little at her. Random spanking comments will take place as she walks down the hall and her face will turn as red as her bottom was the day before. When it is time for PE, cheerleading, or whatever sports tem she plays on, there are going to be a few awkward days in the locker room. Showering or even changing in the locker room becomes quite embarrassing as she tried to hide her bruised bottom. She knew based from past experience, that when she got home, her school uniform would be of no help to her. Amy had never been in any trouble before at school, so when she found herself in the office, during her senior year, for tardies, she was given what the principal called a suspended sentence. During her last semester as a senior, she was perpetually late to a class in which everyone knew the teacher was a bit of a pushover, and rarely did she ever send anyone to the office. Amy came into this class late on a regular basis, but never more than a minute or two. She knew she had gone over the three tardy mark, but she did not think the teacher cared, much less even noticed or kept track. She realized one day, that the teacher did indeed keep track, when as she walked in late, before she was able to sit down the teacher called her over to her desk. The teacher pulled out a disciplinary referral and filled in all of the required boxes and lines. In the section for “reason for referral” she wrote “6 tardies, one semester”, and then underlined “6 tardies” twice with a red sharpie.
Amy’s walk to the office was a slow one as she was quite nervous. When she had sat in his office, during the previous semester, she had been quite nervous. While she had never been paddled at school before, she had been spanked by her mom when she was a little girl. She was six or seven the last time she had been spanked at home, but she still remembered how much she hated it. Her mom only ever gave her 5-6 smacks with a wooden spoon over her panties, but she always cried. When she has previously sat before him, all she could see was the wooden paddle the hung on the wall next to his desk. Her friends that had been paddled at school before, had told her how much it hurt, so she was quite relieved when he let her off with a suspended sentence.

When he finally spoke, he explained to her that they had a little problem. He informed her that school policy did not allow more than three swats for any given offense, and clearly she was facing more. Her heart began to pound even harder and her eyes went back to the paddle on the wall. It was not a huge paddle, but it was certainly much bigger than the spoon her mom used to spank her with, and she had learned to fear that spoon. He calmly explained that he needed to take care of the suspended sentence, so she had three “licks” coming for that. He further explained that she had an additional three licks coming for each of the three tardies. He told her that he would rather just give her all nine in a row, as he hated for a student to miss more class than was needed, but that he did not have that option. She thought her heart might explode as she realized this trip to his office could result in more than the three swats. She thought that the suspended sentence had meant the next time she was sent up for tardies that she would receive the three she was owed, she had not considered this new math and the number of swats she was now facing.
He told her that policy required that they deal with each offense individually, and there had to be a gap in between for them to be considered three separate paddlings. He told her that she would receive three now, then be sent back out to the main office, and then he would call her back in, two different times. He apologized that she would have to miss the rest of this class, and the one following it, but he did not see any other way to resolve it. He promised that they would be done in time for her to make it to lunch. Her brain was overloaded as she processed this information and she just wanted to cry. She was not sure how she would handle a single paddle swat, much less nine over the next ninety minutes. He pointed to another chair in his office against the back wall, and told her to move over to that chair and to bend over and place her hands on the seat.

She had somehow expected more of a process or a delay, but it was as simple as that. He had decided that she was going to be paddled, and she had no say in it. She was not offered an option, her parents were not contacted, and even at the age of 18, she had no say in the matter. It struck her as odd, that as a legal adult, this man had the power to tell her to bend over so he could spank her ass with a paddle. With the sweat beginning to form on her face, she stood up, walked over to the chair, and bent over and put her hands on the chair. This was a far different experience than the spankings she had gotten from her mom. Her mom would grab the spoon, yank down her pants, and then start the spanking. After the third swat, she was actively crying and he walked back to his desk. She was not sure what to do, as he had not said anything yet, so she stayed in place, her bottom aching, and vision blurred. He called her back to his desk, and slid a corporal punishment report in front of her and told her to sign it. She could barely read it through her tears and just scribbled her name on the line he had pointed to. He handed her a single tissue and then told her to go back out to the chairs in the office and let her bottom “cool off”. She dabbed her eyes with the tissue and rubbed her bottom as she walked out to the chairs and gently had a seat. She could not believe how much it had hurt and her bottom was throbbing like crazy. She continued to wipe her eyes and feel sorry for herself; with her entire being focused on the pain her bottom was feeling. For a minute or so, she was living in her own little painful world, just wanting the pain to go away. It took her a minute or so, to fully realize her surroundings. When she finally looked around the room, she noticed how many eyes were on her. She had not considered that every student and staff member in the office had just heard every swat being applied to her bottom. The student aids who worked in the office were staring at her, as was just about everyone else present. She had sat there in that chair, crying and rubbing her bottom like a little girl, and had not even noticed that she had an audience. Now that was all she was noticing and she was very embarrassed. She dried her eyes more and tried to suck it up, but her butt just hurt so badly.
She began to control her breathing as the initial sting from the paddling settled a little. The burning sensation was slowly being replaced with a throbbing of the muscles in her bottom. She was surprised as that pain did not seem to go away, but continued to build. There had been a slight numbness that was leaving her body and it the pain was getting worse. She sat at that chair, still aware of the occasion person looking at her and she was quite embarrassed. Here she was, an 18 year old girl, old enough to vote, old enough to join the military, and here she sat in the school office with a sore bottom, waiting to be spanked again. After 30 minutes, his door opened again and she was called into his office.

Just as before, she stayed in position while he filled out a new corporal punishment form. Just the thought of that paddle hitting her already sore bottom, caused her eyes to begin to fill with tears.

After the form was complete, the process started all over again. He grabbed the paddle and stepped up behind her and she felt it touch her bottom. She gritted her teeth just in time to feel the 1st swat. This swat made the previous three seem playful. Her butt was already so sore and throbbing, that she instantly screamed out in pain and began to cry very hard. The next swat landed in the same spot as the previous one and she thought she might faint from the pain. In just an instance, the next swat landed, and it was all over. She was left bent over, hands on the wall as he walked back to his desk and sat down. He added the date and the time of the paddling to the piece of paper, and asked her to once again join him. She could not stop crying at this point and wandered to his desk in a daze. He had her sign this new form, gave her a single tissue, and told her to go back out to the chairs, and that they would finish up soon.
Just as before, she was still crying hard as she left his office, and every eye in the room was on her. She sat down gingerly on the chair, buried her face in her hands, and cried for several minutes. She could not believe this was happening to her and she could not believe how much her bottom hurt. She knew there was no way she could go through this a third time, her butt has already had way too much. She was far too embarrassed, to be sitting there like a crying little girl to even look up. She knew everyone was looking, she wanted to be strong like it was no big deal, but that was not possible at the moment. It took her a good ten minutes to get herself together. While she was now slightly composed, her bottom was not doing any better. The slight numbness was leaving her body and with every beat of her heart her butt pulsated. Even with the padded seat of the chair was in, she was starting to shift around trying to find a position that did not hurt as much. The problem was, he kept smacking the same spot on her bottom, and that was the part that touched the chair. No matter how much she wiggled and squirmed, she just could not get comfortable.
Once again, 30 minutes passed, and she knew that she was moments from the final set of licks. She reached back and rubbed her bottom a little and it was so very sore to the touch. She wondered how she would get through the next three, and found herself looking at the door out of the main office, thinking about an escape. Just as she was beginning to convince herself to run, his door opened and she was called back in. She walked slowly to his office, like she was approaching a firing squad. She was told to sit down, one last time, and she did so hesitantly. He saw the discomfort as she attempted to sit and he smiled. He told her that this was exactly what they wanted. He explained that the difficulty she was experiencing when sitting was demonstrated that she was learning. He told her it might seem a little rough at the moment, but the paddlings she received today would indeed assure that she always gets to class on time. He apologized to her for not paddling her the first time she was in his office, as he knows if he had, they would not be having this conversation at the moment.

He told her to stand up, move back towards the wall, and to bend over and grab her ankles. She did not like the sound of this at all, but she did as she was told. He told her to widen her stance and to straighten her legs, which she did. He started on a new form while she waited with her bottom in the air. He eventually stood up, walked towards her, and then his phone rang. He set the paddle on the desk, and took the phone call. She stayed in that position, grabbing her ankles, with her throbbing butt in the air for close to four minutes. She listened as he discussed some administrative detail regarding paper and supplies for the computer lab. She wanted to scream at him, and tell him to get it over with, even though she never wanted to feel that paddle ever again in her life. The phone call eventually ended and he was right back to business.

The paddle touched her bottom and the tears began before she felt the 1st swat. It hit the same poor spot on her bottom that felt like it was broken at this point. Even after six previous swats, this was not getting easier for her, it was getting harder. The pain jolted her so much; she jumped up a little and started to grab her bottom. Her knees buckled and she was already crying like a 3 year old in the middle of a temper tantrum. He told her to grab her ankles again and the next swat came. The sound echoed through the main office and the only thing louder was her reaction. The final swat was applied to her bottom and it was finally over. He sat, filled in the rest of the paperwork, and then called her over. He asked her to take a seat, but she declined. He told her it was not optional and to “sit her butt down”. She struggled with the pain as her bottom touched the seat. He had her once again sign the form and then asked her if they would be having any tardy issues even again. While still wiping away the tears she promised that he would never see her in this office again in her lifetime.

There are still many states in the US in which a paddling may be administered by something other than a school administrator. Within these high schools, coaches and teachers that chose to handle the corporal punishment themselves are allowed to. They still have to follow the same school guidelines as the administrators, but they are free to paddle students when they feel it is required. Within every school in which the teachers are allowed to paddle, there are those one or two teachers that have a reputation as the hardest hitting paddlers in the school.

This will typically be the classroom in the school in which the students are the best behaved and create the least amount of distractions during class. Tardies are typically also much lower in a class with a hard paddling teacher. It is not that this teacher is meaner than the rest of the teachers, it just means that this is a teacher that decided a long time ago, that they are going to utilize every free moment in class to teach, and anything that distracts from the process, needs to be eliminated.
By being a teacher that is known for hard paddling, he ends up paddling far less than the other teachers as his reputation is well known throughout the student body. Even incoming freshman have heard the stories of how he can really light a bottom on fire, even if they have not been present on occasion when it takes place. He is strict and uncompromising in all aspects of the discipline he administers. It does not matter to him if it is a male or female student, a freshman or a senior, or for a small offense or a large offense. If there is a situation that needs to be dealt with via a paddling, he simply gets the job done to the very best of his ability.

When the situation does present itself, he is all business, and whoever is on the receiving end, ends up in a world of hurt. He calls the student from her desk, opens the door to the hallway, and tells her to step to the middle of the hall, assume a wide stance, and to bend over and grab her ankles. He continues with whatever he was doing at the moment, as he hates for discipline to get in the way of the learning process. The student, who knows of his reputation, is made to sweat it out in the hallway while he finishes that portion of his lecture. With her little butt in the air, even if she has been paddled at school before, she knows that this is not going to be a typical paddling.
When he finds a good stopping place, he opens the cabinet to pull out his legendary paddle. He constructed it himself, and it is considerably longer than the standard school paddle. It is made from heavy oak, and there is taped wrapped around the handle to assure a good grip. He reminds the class to stay busy and the closes the door behind him as he walks out into the hall, to join the poor young lady who is still in the middle of the hall, with her hands on her ankles. It does not matter to him that she has never been in trouble in his class before, nor does it matter to him that she is 110 lbs. He pays no regard to the fact that she is a straight A student or that he can see her arms and legs trembling as she waits to feel the paddle on her bottom.

He knows that by paddling her with a severity that only he is fully capable of, that he is avoiding a dozen paddlings in the future. He knows that students will talk and that the word will spread about the severe paddling she received for even such a small infractions. Everyone in his class will hear it, as well the students in every classroom on that hall. It is because of the paddling he is about to administer, that he will only have to give a few more that semester. He knows of teachers that paddle just about every day, and he sees that as ineffective discipline if the results or so ineffective that it happens many times a week. This girl’s bottom is about to pay the price, but it is worth it to him to have an orderly, organized, and well behaved class.
He also knows that this is for this girl’s own good. Students who get away with small misdeeds, here and there, tend to move up to bigger offenses. He is going to make sure, right now while he has her full attention, that she remember this paddling throughout her high school career. The next time she is goofing around in the hall and running late to a class, passing notes, or does not have everything required for a class, she will look back on this day. He learned many years before to disregard the pain, the pleading, and the crying from a paddling, as he simply sees all of those things as progress and learning. The more a student reacts to a paddling, the more he knows he is doing a good job. He is also very aware that the louder the reaction, the better it is heard by other students, and the better his reputation becomes.

He walks up behind her and reminds her of why she is about to be paddled. Once again, it does not matter what she did wrong, if it requires a paddling, he will give her the school maximum of 6 swats. He tells her to try her best to stay in position, but he knows that this really isn’t possible for a petite teen girl grabbing her ankles. The large oak paddle is placed on her bottom and he swings for the fences. He does not just use his arm; he twists his whole body into it and pivots his hips as he lays on the 1st swat. As he has her bend over for her next swat, there is no doubt in his mind that she has already learned a very real lesson. He has no doubt that his two swats with the paddle has turned her tiny little bottom black and blue and that she will not ever pose any more discipline problems in his class. But he is very fair as a teacher and a disciplinarian and long ago he decided that every student in his class that needs to be paddled, will get the full six he is allowed. The remaining swats do not get an easier, if anything, he likes to finish strong to make sure a real impression is made. With her blinded by her tears and crying uncontrollably, he lays on the rest of the swats. The next step he feels is just as important as the paddling itself, and that is providing a visual for the students in his class. School policy does not allow for him to paddle a girl in front of other students, so they never actually get to see it take place. But there is nothing in the policy that prevents him from showing them the results of what they just heard, so the moment the paddling is over, he walks her right back into the classroom. The students now get to see the look of pain that goes along with what they just listened to. They get to see an 18 year old girl still crying hard from the pain of her paddling. Every eye in the classroom is on her as she walks to her desk, trying to rub the pain from her bottom. Clearly, I think that a school corporal punishment should be applied hard enough to make a real impression on a young lady, but I am fair in the fact that the punishment should fit the crime. If it is a 1st time offense, that is a small infraction within the school code of conduct, a few swift swats with a paddle should do the trick. Obviously, if that infraction is repeated, then more severe consequences are called for. If a few moderate swats with the paddle did not get the job done, then clearly the level of severity needs to be raised significantly.

But for those severe infractions, like bullying, fighting, and alcohol and drug related issues, from the very beginning, the paddling needs to be administered at a level in which very real learning takes place through the seat of her pants. I think if the paddling is administered in a safe manner, there is no such thing as too hard when dealing with severe offenses. In addition, I think in order for there to really be long term benefits, each paddle swat needs to be applied in the exact same spot. There is no reason to make all of her bottom a little sore, if it possible to make part of her bottom extremely sore. Both at home, but especially in the school environment, a young lady spend the majority of her day sitting. But how long should her bottom remain sore in all fairness? I think leaving her bottom sore for as long as possible should always be the goal. Her infraction does not quickly become a distant memory, if she is still wiggling in her seat, trying to find a way to sit that doesn’t hurt…three days later. If her bottom is paddled long enough and hard enough that she is still struggling to sit a week later, all the better. If she has to try and cover up in the locker room, so none of the other girls see her bruised butt, then that is yet another added bonus. Teen girls will go far out of their way to avoid being embarrassed in front of their peer group, and very few girls want to admit that they were spanked at school. I would have to guess that this number is very conservative, as in the more rural areas, especially in the ones in which the teachers and coaches are also allowed to paddle students, that 75% of the paddlings are undocumented. This could easily bring the numbers to well over 500,000 students paddled, but I will use a conservative number and go with 350,000 students.
So if we want to question how often a school paddling really takes place, we need to crunch the numbers. The average school, not including weekend and holidays, has 180 days in its school year. The average school day, as far as time that the students are in class, is 6.7 hours a day. If you do the math, that gives us an average of 1944 school paddlings a day in the US. If looked at more closely, this is around 290 school paddling every hour, or about one every 12 seconds. This means that in the time it took you to read to this point right here, at least two school paddlings were administered to the bottom of a student.
So while there are many posts on the internet about school paddling that are clearly someone’s fantasy, you must remember that a school paddling, actually taking place in the US schools every 12 seconds, is very much the reality. At this very moment, as you read these very words, somewhere in America there is a teen girl, standing up from her chair in the principal’s office, being told to bend over and grab her ankles. She has no say in the matter, not only is this allowed at this school, but her parents signed a form authorizing it. This principal is not worried about lawsuits, or angry parents, as this community embraces corporal punishment. His only concern is paddling her bottom hard enough to make sure that she never commits the offense again. This is a school in which corporal punishment is the primary form of discipline and it is used not only liberally, but severely. This punishment will be documented and she will be part of the statistics.

3) The paddling needs to be effective and not just ornamental. There are far too many school administrators that just go through the motions of paddling a young lady’s rear end, as it is quick and easy and gets the girls out of their office quickly. But the purpose of a good school paddling is not to just have an option that allows a school principal to get right back to work with their administrative duties. A good school paddling needs to hurt, and it needs to hurt a lot. It needs to be a situation that hurts so very much, that she would never, EVER, want it to be repeated. The negative stimulus being applied to her bottom needs to be something that she cannot bare. This is what a good school paddling is all about. It is about that negative stimulus being intense and long lasting, so that there is not a moment that goes by, in the next three days, in which she is not reminded of her behavior. There are certainly many positions that a school administrator has to choose from, but making her grab her ankles is far superior for so many reasons. After all, the goal of a school paddling is to provide the teen girl with an experience that she would never want to repeat, so let’s take a look at why a girl being paddled while grabbing her ankles makes for a better learning experience.

Obviously a school paddling is meant by design to create discomfort for a female student. That act of taking a large board and applying it forcefully to a bottom is never comfortable for the person receiving it, but by having her grab her ankles, the level of comfort is reduced on many levels. The first factor is that it is not very pleasant to have to grab your ankles for any length of time. It tends to pull on the muscles of the bottom and legs and it also sends more blood to the head. Simply having a young lady assume this position for any length of time will not be a great experience for her. Unless she is extremely flexible, this position gets very old very fast.

The next factor is that of embarrassment. While teen girls squeeze their bottoms into the tightest jeans they can possible fit in, and they do indeed do it to show off their bottoms for the boys, it is a much different world when she is commanded by a middle aged man, that she barely knows, to bend over and grab her ankles. There may have never been a moment in her life where she was so acutely aware of her bottom being on display as when she grabs her ankles to be paddled. She might like the boys staring at her butt as she walks down the hall, but the purpose of this man staring at her bottom is so he can perfectly aim the wooden school paddle in a manner to create as much pain as possible. This is not the kind of attention she hoped her bottom would receive that day, and being bent over with her bottom completely on display, can be quite overwhelming and embarrassing for the teen girl.

Along with the embarrassment comes a feeling of vulnerability. With her legs spread wide and her hands on her ankles, this does not feel like a safe place for her. There is nothing comfortable or reassuring about it in any way. She if left feeling silly for whatever she did that led her to this moment in her life. There is not the security of having something to hold onto like a desk or a chair, it is just her and her body that are participating in this ordeal. With her legs spread wide, the very essence of her womanhood also feels quite vulnerable, helping to achieve the most uncomfortable experiences as possible for her.
This position really allows her a sense of ownership in her punishment. While this exists to a certain degree in any position for a paddling, it certainly is really brought home when she has to grab her ankles. She is not being gently leaned over a desk, she as actively presenting her bottom in the most intimate of ways to be punished. She is not struggling like a kid getting a spanking from mommy at home. She knows that in a matter of moments that a heavy wooden paddle is going to be used to bruise her bottom. Despite these very circumstances, she is doing what she is told and she is making her bottom available for this very event. When the paddling begins, no one will be holding her in position, nor will she have the benefit of a wall, desk, or a chair to help her stay in position. This position forces her to not only endure her punishment, but to assist. She cannot just zone out and try to go somewhere else mentally, it will take all of her concentration to even maintain the position during the paddling. It makes her a partner in her punishment and a very active participant. It is her punishment after all, and it makes great sense for her to assist in the process of getting her bottom properly spanked.

A punishment is further enhanced if she is required to remain in this position for quite some time before her paddling begins. There is no rule that states that a young lady needs to be paddled as soon as she assumes the position. There is not a girl in this world who will not be deep in thought on why she is where she is, and what she can do to avoid it in the future. This is the reason for the paddling in the first place, to get her to think about her action and to adjust her behavior accordingly. If leaving her with her bottom on display further enhances this process, it should by all means be included. There is also the added benefit that this position is hard to maintain for any length of time. If her legs start to shake a little and her muscles become sore, then all the better.
While all of the above are good arguments for the use of this position, the real heart of any school paddling is the amount of pain applied to a young lady’s bottom. Obviously there is a direct correlation between how hard a girl is paddled and how much learning takes place. No girl has ever learned anything from a paddling that does not hurt, it is simply not a deterrent. However, the more pain that is achieved, the greater the deterrent in the long run. If the goal is to extinguish a behavior permanently, then as much pain that can safely be applied to her bottom, the better. Now if by utilizing a position that can further help to increase the pain her bottom feels, I say it should be used every time.

When a female is standing straight up it is possible to actually grab her bottom and hold it in your hand. There is quite of bit of muscle and fat in a female bottom and it gathers in the curvy part of her back side when she is standing or walking. When she is required to bend over slightly, you see less of that tissue as it begins to get spread out over a greater area when she bends. With a girl bent at a 90 degree angle, it gets much harder to grab and hold onto any of that tissue on her bottom. When she is required to bend fully and grab her ankles, the skin is pulled tight, and the softer part of her bottom almost disappears. On a tight teen bottom, it would be almost impossible to grab her butt while she is in this position and be able to hold onto anything. The fatty tissue is really pushed to the side and her muscles become tight and much closer to the surface. If she were simply to be paddled over the fleshiest parts of her bottom, without her bending, it would not lead to her lesson lasting as long. But with her muscles pulled close to the surface, they will be impacted much more, which leads to a very sore and very bruised bottom, which should be the goal of any proper school paddling.

I think that the really good school administrators out there, the ones who really care about their students, should go the extra mile when applying a school paddling. If they want to change lives and changes behaviors, they owe it to their students to make them grab their ankles for each and every paddling administered. Through a combination of factors such as embarrassment, vulnerability, cooperation, and discomfort the overall learning experience that comes from a school paddling can be greatly enhanced. Most importantly, the use of this position can really help convince a student that she never again in her life wants to receive another school paddling. If done right, a young lady will leave his office with tears in her eyes and a bruised bottom, that will make sitting difficult for many days to come.

One of main benefits of school paddling as a form of discipline in high school is that it is quick, cheap, and effective. With detention, there is at least one employee responsible for hanging around while students stay after school, creating a further financial burden for the district. But with corporal punishment, when done properly, an effective punishment can be applied in less than 30 seconds and the paddle used is generally made in the wood shop, at no cost to the school. Detention is a little boring for a student, but what is the real deterrent in spending three days, after school, for 30 minutes at a time? Does any student really fear detention as a punishment. Has any student’s heart started beating rapidly as an AP tells them that they will have detention for three days? I cannot imagine the final bell ringing at school, and as a student walks towards the office to check in for detention, that their heart rate goes crazy, their hands start to sweat, and they are overcome with a sense of dread.
Now picture that same student, sent to the office that morning, sentenced to a paddling, and told to return to the office after school for her paddling. She spends her entire day preoccupied with the thought of that paddle, she saw sitting on his desk, being applied forcefully to her bottom. She cannot concentrate at all in class, all she can do is think about the punishment she has coming and what she did to earn it. She will probably also be considering what she can do in the future to avoid it. She might find herself distracted for a moment at lunch, during a conversation with friends, but each time she revisits the thought of her paddling in her head, her heart starts to race again. She begins to ask herself questions, “what position will I be paddled in“, “how many swats will I get”, “how hard will he paddle me“, “how bad will it hurt”, “how long will it last”? She will not be thinking about how boring detention is, she will be thinking about how long her bottom will be bruised.

When the final bell rings, the walk to the office will not be easy. Her friends will be giggling and laughing in the halls, glad their day is over. They will talk to her, but she will not even hear them, as all she can see in her head is that large and heavy wooden paddle that sat on his desk. With each movement of her foot she finds herself one step closer to a fate that she fears on every level. In a perfect world she would run away, far from that paddle, never looking back. But her reality is much different as she is required to go to the office for a paddling. She thinks of the other girls she knows who have been paddled before and their description of how much it hurts. She never thought it would happen to her, but here she is, 18 years old, walking to the office to be spanked by a large wooden board by a man she has only met once before. She questions how she could have been so stupid to end up in this situation and promises herself it will never happen again.

She sits outside his open door and waits to have pain applied to her bottom. She is escorted through the crowd of students in the office, most with smiles on their faces, and taken to the conference room that he utilizes when a paddling is required. She cannot even look up at the faces of all of those around, staring right at her, knowing that her butt is about to be hurting. Just as that morning, he is very casual and professional in his time with her. For him it is just another day at the job, for her it is a total nightmare.

He raises the heavy paddle into the air and then she feels it…pain, real pain, far more than she could have ever imagined. There are those times that a school paddling has nothing to do with lectures and formality. I believe that a long drawn out paddling experience can be a very positive thing and help with the overall learning process for the high school girl who finds herself facing corporal punishment. This type of paddling is best accomplished in a school office, by a staff member whose entire job revolves around school discipline. This allows them to take their time with the process and assure that it is as effective as possible.

For the schools in the South that allow teachers to paddle students, they do not have the luxury of taking their time, as their primary duty is that of teaching and every moment spent out of the classroom is time that the students are not learning. Yes, I am sure they would like to have the time to spend to really make a point with a student as to why they are being paddled and to give them time to reflect in what they have done. But there are times when, for a teacher, it is simply about applying pain to a young lady’s bottom as effectively as possible and in a manner that she will remember.
He does not have time to lecture her about her behavior, he needs to let the severity of his swats do all of the talking for him.
Take for instance young Roxie here. After repeated warnings for seemingly innocent behavior such as giggling, chatting with her neighbor and passing notes the teacher finally has had enough. He tells her to head down the hall to the teacher’s conference room that most teachers utilize for the paddling of students. It allows a private space for a hard paddling to be administered, outside of the view of other students. There is a paddle that hangs on the wall in there and sees frequent use by the teachers that choose to handle their own discipline.

Roxie takes a seat and cannot help but look at the large paddle that hangs on the wall. He has limited time, so she is not made to wait all that long. He gives the class a quick reading assignment and excuses himself. He knows very little gets done in his class when he is not present, so time is of the essence. He enters the room and quickly tells Roxie to stand up, turn around, and to grab her ankles. He pulls the paddle off the wall and wastes no time getting started. He does not have the time to tell her every little thing she did wrong, or give her a long winded lecture. Instead, he needs to rely on the power of his swats to be effective enough that a lesson is learned. He raises the paddle in the air and brings it down on her little butt as hard as possible. She makes a little grunting sound, which leaves him a little disappointed. With the next swat he gets a little more of his body behind it and starts to hear the sounds of learning coming from Roxie after that one lands…much better. She receives 10 swats all together and he achieves the tears he was looking for. He likes every paddling to serve as an example to the other students, so she is walked right back to class while she is still sobbing with tears running down her face. He believes that the chatting and horseplay in his class with be eliminated for several days.

It was her second time in the office, for the same offense, in a single month. For her 1st offense, the female VP gave her a hard paddling consisting of six swats with a medium sized school paddle. It was clear, if she was going to commit the same offense, less than a month later, that the initial paddling had not had the desired effect. The VP considered suspending Jessica, but finals were a couple of days away and she really hated for someone to fail their classes as a result of a suspension and missing the tests that made up such a large portion of the student’s grades. She decided that a ten swat paddling would be awarded to Jessica this time; however, the VP would not be the one to administer the paddling. She told Jessica what was going to happen but that she needed to find someone who could achieve better results with the paddle. She excused herself and left Jessica alone with her thoughts of being paddled even harder than the previous time. That paddling had been no joke and Jessica’s tiny little bottom remained bruised for a few days after. She really could not picture having to endure something longer and even harder than the one before.
She knows that this will be the hardest paddling of her life…all she can do now is wait for it.
The VP knew exactly who she was going to get to administer the paddling. There was a coach on campus that had a reputation as the hardest hitting paddler. The boys on his football team often spoke of the legendary paddlings that took place in his office. He was known to paddle for any little offense, and regardless of the offense, he paddled hard. She had had a few complaints over the years, as to the severity of his paddlings, but severity was what she needed at the moment. She returned to her office with the hard hitting coach and calmly explained the situation, as if Jessica was not even in the room. She explained that she had a student that was in her office for a repeat offense that required immediate action. She stated that the student had been previously paddled, but it was clear that it was not effective. She told him that a suspension was probably the right move, but that finals were approaching. She asked if he was able to provide a paddling, similar to that that his players received, as she wanted this to be a paddling that she would never forget. He was not one to disguise his emotions and he smiled and happily replied that he would gladly provide her with the paddling of her life. The truth was, he enjoyed administering paddlings, especially well-deserved ones. He had no issues with paddling a male player to tears, which was often the outcome, and just because it was a cute teen girl whose bottom was about to be presented to him, he saw no reason to go easy. He was going to paddle her just as he paddled the boys and was quite looking forward to it.
The coach prides himself on the severity of the paddling he administers. Just because she is a female with a tiny little bottom does not mean he will go easy on her. He lays the paddle on full force, bruising her bottom with every swat.
The VP instructed Jessica to grab the largest paddle off of the wall and to hand it to the coach. She stated that the previous time she had obviously chosen the wrong paddle and the wrong paddler, a mistake that she would not be making again. Jessica was told to bend over the desk and waited for her paddling. The VP reemphasized to the coach that this needed to be a very hard paddling as it was a second offense. The coach responded that that would certainly not be a problem. He touched the long maple paddle against Jessica’s tiny teen bottom and went right to work. The crack of the 1st swat was almost deafening in the small office and Jessica was lifted up onto her toes. Her legs buckled a little and she cried out in pain. The VP was quite impressed and told him that he was doing a good job and asked for nine more, just like the first one. The coach was enjoying himself, as he usually had a 220 lb. linebacker bent over his desk, but now he had a perfect little 18 year old bottom before him and he found swatting her teen bottom to be quite satisfying. He raised the paddle again and gave her an equally hard swat. He was immune to the cries and pain at this point in his career, and he viewed tears and crying as a sign that he was doing a good job. It made no difference to him that it was a girl that was not crying before him, he knew she deserved every swat she was getting. He continued paddling her teen butt until all ten swats had been administered. When it was all said and done, she was crying and hyperventilating like he had never seen before. It was clear in his mind that this young lady learned the lesson she needed and he suspected that she would not be back in that office any time soon.

Just about every high school girl participates in some sort of exercised based school class. She might be a star athlete and be on the track team or it might also be as basic as general physical education. There are so many options at large high schools today, but the common thread is some sort of attire that allows for a workout. If you have ever seen the outfits that are worn by cheerleaders when they workout, you will notice that they are very skimpy. They often practice outdoors where they get hot quickly, so it is common to see them in short shorts and a sports bra. With women’s volleyball, both their practice outfits and game uniforms are as tiny as can be.

When a young lady finds herself getting in trouble during any sports activity at school, it would be rare for the coach to tell her to change and go to the office. They are sent to the office in exactly what they are wearing. There are also some administrators and vice principals that take full advantage of the fact that a girl is wearing an outfit that offers very little protection. Some paddlings are sentenced, with the girl being told that she will be called to the office later in the day for her paddling. There are also those cases in which a VP is given information regarding a young lady’s behavior and she is called to his office as opposed to being sent by a teacher. When a very real impression needs to be made on her bottom, it only makes sense to call her to the office from her gym class knowing that a paddling over tiny shorts will hurt far more than over jeans.

She would have to become hyper aware of the fact that her thin cotton shorts and the G-string she is wearing will offer no protection at all during her paddling. It will be as close to a bare bottom paddling that a teen girl can receive at school. There must also be an awareness that she will be presenting her bottom in those shorts. Certainly she likes the attention she receives from the male students in those little booty shorts, but never in a million years did she ever think that she would be going to the office and presenting her bottom to be paddled in such attire. She knows that in just a few minutes, a man that she had met for the 1st time that day would be telling her to bend over so she can be spanked with his school paddle.

A heavy wooden school paddle is effective over any article of clothing, especially if it is thick. Regardless of the state of dress, a heavy paddle hits with a major thud and does what it is intended to…bruise a teen girl’s bottom. But with denim jeans, a lot of the sting is taken out of the paddling while it is in progress. It still results in a bruised and sore bottom that lasts for a couple of days, but it is certainly easier for a young lady to bear during the actual paddling. In contrast, a heavy wooden paddle over very thin workout shorts is a completely different experience. She will end up just as bruised and sore after her paddling, but during, the sting will be much more intense. This is quite beneficial as to the whole school paddling experience and often brings tears to the young lady much quicker. Being that the primary purpose of a school paddling is crying and a bruised bottom, anything that enables this to take place more quickly can only make it a more effective experience for the young lady in trouble.

As you can see in this pictures used to illustrate this post, the short shorts that young ladies often wear in sports classes, offer very little in the way of protection. Kiki, the young lady being paddled in these pictures (and the video in the member’s area of RealspankingsInstitute.com) has a very tiny little bottom. A severe paddling, like the one she received in the video, needs to be applied to the lowest part of the bottom, to avoid the tailbone. In her paddling, as I would assume also happens in a real high school environment, there is no way to avoid hitting a little skin on the top of the thighs. With the little shorts and the tiny bottom, the upper thighs just become a bit of the target area. As long as it is still the fleshiest part of the upper thigh, this is perfectly acceptable and also has a way of really getting a teen girl’s attention. This also adds to the embarrassment as when she returns to class, it may be possible to see a bit of the bruising on the area not covered by her shorts. You can see from the final shot that her bottom is already starting to bruise nicely and the marks extend a bit below her bottom. Anticipation can be used as a powerful learning tool and if done properly, the results will be visible on her face. Many principals make the moments leading up to a school paddling, purposefully long and very drawn out, so she will have a lot of time to consider what is about to happen and how much it will hurt. All of this can be easily emphasized with a few well-chosen sentences. Consider the following statements, fully appropriate for the situation, and how they will affect a young lady’s state of mind prior to her paddling:
-“I find that if I give the maximum amount of swats allowed, it tends to make a longer lasting impression”
-“I will not be doing you any favors if I just give you a moderate paddling, my goal is for you to never return to my office for any disciplinary issues, so I think the hardest paddling I can give will do you the most good”
-“Don’t be so hard on yourself, we will be able to easily correct this by giving your bottom a good bruising”
-“I had the shop teacher create this paddle especially for moments like this, we have tried many designs over the years, but this one has proven to hurt the most”
- “From the look on your face, you seem quite nervous about the paddling you about to receive. This is completely understandable, as this paddling will be delivered in a manner that will make you cry. But don’t worry, I will give you 5-10 minutes afterwards to let you calm down and get your tears under control”
-“When you come to school tomorrow morning and attempt to sit down in class, something you will find to be close to impossible, I want you to think about the actions that led to paddling I am about to give you”
The simple act of reinforcing everything she is thinking, with a few choice words, can do a lot to add to the overall feeling of dread prior to a paddling. The things she fears the most are not downplayed, they are emphasized, and put right out there for her to consider. When done correctly, the punishment has already started, her heart is racing, she is trembling, and she is fighting back the tears, before the 1st swat ever hits her teen bottom. These are all visible signs that her paddling is going to be quite effective.
There is no denying that look, that is the look of real learning taking place.
During her paddling there are many signs, both visual and auditory, that demonstrate that she is learning a lesson. The 1st one is the look on her face as she receives that 1st swat. If she is just sucking it up and squinting her eyes, chances are that the 1st swat was not effective. The look on her face should be complete and total surprise. It should be a look that shows that she has just been introduced to a level of pain on her bottom that she did not know was possible. A successful spanking in the home environment is most often accomplished as a result of the amount of smacks her teen bottom receives. Parents have the luxury of being able to spank as long as they want until the job is done. In the school environment, principals do not have the same luxury. Often they are limited to as few as 6 swats with the paddle, so every one of them must really count. If that 1st swat does not take her breath away and bring tears to her eyes, then it was just wasted. Principals need to take full advantage of every swat and make sure that the 1st is just as hard as the last. The 1st swat might even be the most important as a result of endorphins and numbness. Her body will fight hard during a severe paddling to combat the pain, and by the end, she will not be feeling as much pain. While the latter swats will help with overall bruising and soreness in the days to come, that 1st one is so very important. He needs to be sure that the 1st swat alone is a punishment all to itself, and the look on her face should reflect the pain and discomfort she is feeling.
Her body fights with the pain and wants to leave the situation. But she still has 9 swats to go and will have to suffer through them all.
During the paddling her body will give signs that a paddling is effective. After a couple of hard swats, there should be visible shaking and trembling. It is common to see her legs shaking uncontrollably. It is a sign her body has gone into flight mode and while she does not have the option of leaving, her body is trying to. It should take every ounce of energy and willpower for her to remain in place. A paddling, in which the young lady does not want to flee, is not effective. If she is able to just stay bent over and handle it all stoically, then a lesson is not being learned. She needs to be fighting with everything in her to remain in place. Some principals handle the dilemma a girls faces during her paddling, of not being able to stay in place, with the threat of extra swats, or even an additional paddling. There are many schools in which not staying in place for the duration of the paddling is covered in the school code of conduct. It may be viewed as “direct disobedience” or “failure to comply with instruction from a school staff member”, but taken by itself is a separate offense. Picture the young lady, getting her bottom paddled black and blue, but keeps standing up during the process, being told when it is all over that she needs to report to his office tomorrow for a paddling for not following directions. As hard as it might be, you can bet she does not move out of position for her paddling the next day.

Another sign that a paddling is effective are the sounds a young lady makes as she is being paddled. Almost every girl, especially when paddled in a school office, with only a closed door between her and the hustle and bustle outside the office, will do their best to stay quiet. It is embarrassing enough to have her bottom spanked at school, but she certainly does not want the word to spread about how loud she was, or how hard she cried. But if a principal is really doing his job and giving her a hard paddling with a heavy wooden paddle, after the 1st swat, she will not care about anything other than the pain her bottom is feeling. All girls try to hold it in, but when the burn starts, that is their only focus. A proper school paddling will result in a loud cry of pain from the very beginning. There may be moaning, crying, wailing, and carrying on in all sorts of ways, but if there is not an auditory indicator that she is in pain, then it is not an effective paddling. Sometimes after the 1st swat there is a moment of silence as her breath has literally been taken away. If it is a good paddling, that silence will quickly be replaced with the sounds of learning.

The primary indicator from the teen girl that she is learning a lesson is tears. Tears alone will never demonstrate that she is learning a lesson; it needs to be active crying. A girl who manages to stay quiet, but has tears running down her face, is fighting the process. She is not giving in to the process and she is not really learning a lesson. She needs to be taken to that place, the place of a naughty little child, in which the she not only produces tears, but she cries hard. There needs to be sniffling, sobbing, and uncontrollable emotion, all of which show she has given in, she has broken down, and most importantly, she is learning. This is what most parents look for when spanking their daughter at home. Once again, they have the luxury of taking as long as they want to get the reaction they are looking for. In a school setting, the only way to assure that this important part of the punishment is reached is with severity of the swats. It can be quite disappointing for an administrator to paddle a young lady, only to find out that once he has reached the maximum amount of swats, that there are only a few tears. It is better to be safe than sorry and apply every swat with as much force as he is able to produce. If he has really taught her a good lesson, the crying will continue for several minutes following her paddling. This is a sign of a job well done.

The final indicator of a lesson learned is her not being able to sit very well. Yes, her butt will have gone a little numb over the course of a hard paddling, but there should still be much discomfort when anything touches her bottom. When a 110 lb. high school girl sits in a chair, she is putting about 70% of her body weight onto her bottom. This should cause her to cringe and maybe even cause her to cry harder. If a young lady is able to sit down, without any visual reaction that it is difficult for her, then the paddling was not effective. The goal is for her to not be able to sit down at all, in a few hours, but immediately after the paddling, it should still be hard for her. Her bottom should be black and blue at this point and this will become clear as she struggles to stay in the chair as he finishes up the paperwork.

It is an injustice to the teen girl to not paddle her bottom in the most effective manner possible. The whole purpose of a school paddling is to provide a negative stimulus so as to reduce the chance of misbehavior in the future. When utilizing corporal punishment, the negative stimulus is pain. A little bit of pain to her bottom does very little good. If a young lady is paddled and it only hurts a little bit, the chances or her getting in trouble again are quite high. This is really not fair to the girl getting her bottom paddled. A paddling is a punishment, but it also serves to help guide her to make good decisions in her life. When she is a teen girl, the bad decisions she makes are often not all that harmful, but as she gets older, bad decisions can have far higher consequences. It is the job of the person tasked with the job of administering discipline to do so in a way that changes her behavior, before it is too late.

It may be hard for some administrators to apply the paddling that is required. After all, we may just be talking about a 17 year old girl, 100 lbs., with a tiny teen butt. Her offense may not even be all that major in the grand scope of things. But it is often the little infractions, which build to become bigger infractions. If she grows used to getting away with the small things, it is a natural progression for her to push the boundaries in life. This progression outside of school can lead to jail, DUI’s, and even worse. Administrators need to take advantage of the situations as they present themselves and stop bad behavior on the spot. This is exactly why when that tiny teen bottom is bent over before him, even for something as simple as tardies, he needs to make a real difference in her life.

that rules exist for a reason. She also needs to know that breaking the rules, however small, will lead to her receiving discipline. After all, is 30 minutes of detention after school really that much of a deterrent? On that same note, are three gentle swats with a wooden paddle that much of a deterrent? A school paddling is something that has been earned. It is her actions that have led to this event taking place in the 1st place. All schools have very clear and concise rules spelled out and every student knows when they are breaking them. It is not an accident; it is a conscious choice to misbehave. It is the duty of the person tasked with disciplinary issues as a school to do their very best when handling such problems. As a result, administrators who go easy during a school paddling are not doing the young lady any favors. In fact, it is the exact opposite and it is a disservice to the student being paddled. A young lady who walks away from her paddling thinking “that was not so bad”, learns nothing.

A school administrator, who has the best interest in mind of the students in his school, needs to suck it up and be strict. When he is choosing the type of paddle to have the shop teacher build for him, he needs to choose a hardwood. Why use pine when he can have an oak paddle? He should not go with the smallest dimensions as possible; he needs the biggest paddle the school will allow. Yes, a ½” paddle stings a bottom pretty good, but ¾” leaves much longer lasting impression. He should also choose a paddle that has holes in it. First of all, a paddle with holes is much more intimidating to the young lady it is about to be used on. In addition, it helps the paddle hit more forcefully as there is less air to displace as it strikes her bottom. A paddle with holes will also compress the skin slightly into the holes, and help with bruising.
Remember, we are talking about creating an experience that was not only very uncomfortable for the student, but one that she never again in her life wants repeated. It may seem a little unfair, or even cruel, but it is crueler to have a young lady that is not afraid to get in trouble as she can handle the consequences. We do not want her to be able to handle the consequences; we want her to fear them. Everything that can be done to make it a far worse experience the better it is for her. Besides using the most severe paddle as possible, there are so many other factors that can make her paddling worse. She should not be allowed to just bend over the desk and hold on; she should be made to grab her ankles. This pulls all of the muscles tight in her bottom, bringing them close to the surface. The closer the muscles are to the surface, and the tighter her bottom is stretched, the more pain she will feel. Once again, as with the paddle with holes, this will help with bruising.

Typically when people speak about something helping with bruising, they are referring to decreasing it, or making it go away quicker, this is not the case when it comes to a school paddling. A proper paddling, meant to teach a very real lesson, should be administered in a way to increase bruising. We do not want a young lady who gets a few pops to her butt, it goes a little numb, and then the experience is over for her. A proper paddling is done in a manner for it to not only hurt as much as physically and safely possible, but done so with the intention of making it sore for days, if not a week. There is a direct correlation between the amount of bruising and the amount of soreness she experiences. There is also a direct correlation between maximum soreness and learning. A bruised bottom equals results; it is as simple as that. There is no reason for a student to go home with a pink bottom when black and blue is an option. Not only will her bottom be almost too sore to sit for days, but it serves as a visual reminder for her. While the soreness might go away after 5-7 days, her bottom will be marked for up to two weeks. Every time she gets out of the shower and looks at her tight teen bottom in the mirror, there will indeed be a reminder for her of her previous behavior. This can also serve as a source of embarrassment in the school locker room and others see the results of her actions.

maybe just the lower part of his arm. Yes, this will sting her little butt, he might even be able to get a couple of tears out of her, but once again, this would not be fair for her. If he really has her best interests in mind, that paddle will be lifted high in the air for each and every swat. He will not go easy at 1st and end with a few hard ones, tears should be the goal from the very 1st swat. When that paddle hits her bottom, she should be lifted onto her toes, with the sounds of both the paddle hitting her bottom and her reaction to it, should echo throughout the building. She should be in tears after just the 1st paddle swat on her bottom. Her bottom should be swelling and the bruises already forming. She should be thinking in her mind, after just one, that she will never misbehave again. The pain should be overwhelming, more than she can ever recall feeling. After just that one swat, she should have been taught the lesson of her life. We now have real learning taking place and have a situation that she will never again in her young life want to repeat. This is the reactions we want. This is giving her not only what she has earned, but what she deserves. He is now helping her with her life and helping her with becoming a productive and well behaved citizen. Her butt is bruised, throbbing, and she is crying uncontrollably, now for the nine swats.
I have discussed at length that a young lady’s bottom can indeed get sorer with time following her school paddling. Today I am lucky to have some pictures that show the progression of a teen girl’s bottom after a paddling. Take a look at the 1st two photos below and you can see what her butt looks like just an hour after a hard school paddling with a wooden paddle. The pictures show that the redness has begun to fade and you can see just a small amount of bruising starting to form.

The next pictures, taken the following morning show that her butt has really started to form the bruises. You can see the spots where the paddle made the most impact, as well as additional bruising from the sort of wave of skin being compressed from the paddle, even spots that the paddle did not make contact with have begun to show signs of bruising and soreness. There is no doubt when looking at the two pictures below that her bottom must be quite a bit more sore than it was the night before. This is all part of the learning process as a young lady wakes up to go to school.

The final pictures are from 3 full days after the paddling and the bruises have completely formed. It is clear that this is a very sore bottom. More than 72 hours after she was paddled the full effects of her punishment have really set in. These are not just visual reminders of her behavior, but very painful physical reminders as well. The bruising covers much of her bottom, but the majority of it is concentrated on the lower portions. Imagine that bottom, at school, at a hard wood desk, trying to get through her day. There is not a second spent, in any class, in which she would not be feeling discomfort. The best part is, she knows why her bottom is sore, she knows her behavior causes it, and hopefully she knows that she deserves it. Regardless of how she actually feels about the paddling she received, she knows for sure that she never wants her butt to feel this way ever again.

It was one of the largest high schools in that state with a student population of over 3000. This school had two principals and six assistant principals. Two of the VP positions were strictly administrative, two were direct links to teachers and everything related to classes, and the final two VP positions were dealt exclusively with student discipline issues. One VP was for female students and the other for male students. While the previous VP that dealt with the female student population had been a female, the present position had been occupied by a male for the last 8 years.

While this was a very large high school it was in the Deep South. As with all schools in this part of the state, corporal punishment was alive and well. There was no bigger champion for corporal punishment that Mr. Sutherland, the VP in charge of discipline for the female students. He had grown up not far from the school and he himself was raised in a very strict Christian home. He could not even try to count how many times his own dad had beaten his butt black and blue when he was growing up. The thing he remembered most about getting spanked as a kid was how well it worked in changing his behavior. His dad was strict, the spankings could only be described as brutal, but he felt that he probably deserved everyone he had received. He did not resent his dad in any way for his strict upbringing and he felt that it had played a big role in the man he had become.
He took the issue of discipline in the school very seriously, this was his job, and he was a hard worker. He saw even the smallest infraction at school as a distraction from the educational process. The school was not well funded, the classes were large and crowded, the teachers were overworked, and he did not feel there were enough days in the school year to teach everything the state required. He felt that every student should be 100% focused on the process of learning and that anything that interfered with the process needed to be addressed. His goal in life was to make sure that any student that found her way into his office only did so once. Yes, they were teen girls and they would get distracted at times, but his job was to put them back on track and show them the error of their ways. He worked hard to make sure that any trip to his office was one to be feared. He was not the type of a man that tried to make friend with the students, he was not big on small talk, and he did not try to be social with the students in the halls. He saw his role as that of the bad guy and he was very much the bad cop in any interaction in his office.

uncomfortable as possible. His reputation and a frequent and very hard hitting paddler helped a lot to set the tone before a girl ever made it through his door. The paddlings he administered were almost legendary and with the exception of new students during the 1st week of school, everyone had heard a story about someone being paddled by him. Not only were his paddlings legendary, but so were his paddles. He had quite a collection of paddles in his office. There were a couple that had been made by the shop teacher, there was one he had made himself, and there were a few that had actually been given to him as gifts from parents of students. His reputation and a strict disciplinarian was not just limited to the school, the parents and community were quite aware. But this was the type of town in which corporal punishment was a normal, everyday, occurrence and he had the full support of the community. The parents appreciated his dedication to his job and how much disciplinary issues had decreased since he took the job. He was attempting to bring the school back to the good old days when students were well behaved. Yes, many of their daughters came home with bruised butts, but it only happened when they deserved it.

In Mr. Sutherland’s office the site of a paddle was about as common as family pictures in a typical office. There were always a couple hanging on the wall, generally one on the desk, and a couple more tucked away in drawers. He knew the powerful effect that the sight of a paddle could have on making a 1st impression on a naughty young lady, so there were always a few present. He used fear and anticipation well in the process of a punishment and the first thing that any student entering his office saw was a paddle or two. He kept his office door open at all times until he had a student in his office. He knew that no student wanted to be in his office, it was a room that none of them wanted a part of. As a student came into his office the 1st thing he did was have her close the door behind her, further adding to the apprehension as she now felt very alone with the man she feared. While he varied how he applied a paddling, a 1st trip to his office by a student in trouble generally started the same.

and tell her to have a seat. If there was not already a paddle on his desk, he would grab one off of the wall or from out of a drawer and set it on the desk in front of her. This allowed her a little time alone with her thoughts, specifically the thought of how that paddle was going to feel on her bottom. He did not possess a small paddle; they were all quite large, some with holes in them and some without. Even if this young lady before him had been, or still was, spanked at home, the chances were good that she had never felt something as big as his paddles on her bottom before. He would spend a few minutes going over her referral without saying a word. He would grab her file and see if she had been in trouble in the past. His classic move, also the stuff of legends, was to at some point pick up the paddle and gently tap it on his desk while he looked at her, still not saying a word.
He saw a school paddling as an entire process, not just the acting of spanking a girl’s bottom with a board. He knew how to draw the process out and to make it as uncomfortable as it could possibly be. He capitalized on every emotion that could be effective in preventing a student from ever coming back. He knew from his own experience of being sent to his room to wait for his dad to come and blister his ass, that the wait for a spanking could be as bad as the spanking itself. The brain can be cruel when anticipating major pain so he always made it a long and drawn out experience. While a trip to his office was always a long one, he was never long winded in his approach as far as a lecture was concerned. He knew that the attention span of teens today was limited anyway so he preferred for their experience to be about fear, anticipation, a little bit of embarrassment, and eventually pain to their bottoms.

There was the rare occasion in which a student was simply sent back to class. Not every student sent to his office had really broken the rules; sometimes it was just the wrong place at the wrong time. But is there was an infraction, especially one clearly stated in the student code of conduct, then a paddling would be administered. He knew the student code of conduct book almost verbatim. After the young lady had sweated long enough looking at the paddles and getting an evil stare from him he would pull out the conduct book and turn it to the page that detailed the infraction she had committed. He would push the book across the desk and have her read aloud the rule that she had violated. This made it all very clear cut and simple with little room for her to question what was about to happen. He would something to the effect of “that is the rule, you broke it, and now there will be consequences for your actions…any questions”? Most girls were not brave enough to say anything and nine time out of ten the response would be “no sir”.

lot. He did not want the students to start to expect the same thing in his office so he changed up how he paddled quite a bit. Different paddles were used; different positions were utilized, and even how long between each swat varied considerably. The next step was for him to tell her that she was to be paddled. It was not really a mystery to her at this point, but this was part of the process for him, the formal announcement of the punishment. He would tell her she was to be paddled and would tell her how many she was going to receive. School policy only stated that a student could be paddled, beyond that, there were no formal guideline. There was not a requirement for a witness, there was not a same sex paddler rule, the maximum amount of swats was not specified, and it was completely up to him as to how to handle the discipline he administered. He had the full trust and support of the community, and while he never abused his powers, he made sure that every paddling he gave left a long lasting impression.

He typically gave between four and twelve swats, depending on the severity and frequency of the infraction. The frequency was not based specifically on that particular student’s trips to his office. If there was a trend forming in the school, such as smoking, then he would up the amount of licks any student would receive for that one offense. Once a student was told how many she was to receive, he would go back into intimidation mode. He would stand up and swing the paddle that he had been tapping on his desk through the air a few times. He would then pick a couple more paddles and do the same or smack them hard on his hand. He would basically take them for a test drive right there in front of her. Once he selected a paddle he would have her stand up and tell her to get into position. He utilized many different positions in his large office. A young lady could find herself bent over his desk, standing in the middle of his office with her legs spread wide and grabbing her ankles, bent over with her hands on the wall, bent with her hands on her knees, or sometimes he would pull out a small footstool, place it in the middle of his office, and have her bend over and grab onto it. Regardless of the position he chose, he was very specific as to the exact position they needed to be in. Once they were bent he would fine tune their position. He would tell the girl to widen her stance, or bend a little more, straighten her legs, arch her back, take another step back while extended her arms farther, and it could go on and on. He saw this as important and he was not simply going to bend her over and start paddling her. She needed to be an active participant in her paddling and she not only needed to cooperate, she needed to assist. This was being done for her own good and he required her to help out through the entire process.
With the exception of the paddling itself, the next part was the hardest for every girl. She had sat

She had listened to him tell her that she was about to be paddled and watched him test each paddle to see which one was going to hurt more. He spent a good minute fine tuning her position and getting her into place. She is now there, butt in the air, feeling very vulnerable and on display just waiting for that moment that the paddle hits her bottom. The last ten minutes has built to this very moment and she knows how bad it is going to be…and then he sits back down. She hears his desk drawer open and hears papers being shuffled. She sees that he seems to filling out some paperwork. Here she is, grabbing her ankles in the middle of his office, her tight teen bottom high in the air, and now he has some filing to do? The reality is that he is filling out a corporal punishment report. Policy does not require that he do this and he simply does it for his own records. The reality is, he knows that this is the worst part for every girl that is about to be paddled. He knows her bottom is just about quivering with anticipation of the paddling she is about to receive. Once again, he sees this as part of the process, a very effective and important part and it is generally not over when he finishes filling out the form. Most of the time, he will tell her to remain in position and then excuse himself so he can make a copy of the form. He exits his office making very sure to leave the door open as wide as it goes.
With the hustle and bustle of a school with a student population of 3000+, there is a lot of activity going on in the main office. With two principals, six vice principals, a dozen administrative staff, student workers, a receptionist and everything else that goes on in running a school this large, the open area of the main office can be quite busy. There are never less than 20 people present at any given time including both students and staff. He knows it is an embarrassing process to be an older teen girl about to get a spanking at school. She is certainly stressed about how much her butt will hurt, but she is also stressed about other people finding out. The occasional guy might brag about getting paddled at school and how he took it like a man, but this is never the case with the girls. Ideally for her, it would be a secret that no one ever finds out about. She does not want others to know that her pretty little bottom was paddled until she cried. Any hope of it going down like that go right out the window as soon as he walks out and leaves his door open. He is not shy about it and no one gets in trouble for sneaking a peek, it is really half the point. He goes to the copier and makes a copy of the form. He might even take a moment to stop and chat with his secretary and see who else is waiting. She on the other hand in in the middle of his office, legs spread wide, grabbing her ankles, with her head between her legs. All she can do is close her eyes as she sees people walk past his open door. She knows everyone is looking and she can already hear the whispers. She also knows that as slow as this seems to be playing out, that the news will be spreading around school before her butt feels the 1st swat. But for him, this is all part of the process. Some girls might be able to suck it up and get through a paddling as severe as the one he is about to give, but what she is going through at the moment, he knows no girl would ever want to repeat.
Finally the bruising of her bottom begins.
After he has killed the proper amount of time he goes back in to his office and closes the door, always a little hard. A full five minutes after she was told she was going to get paddled it finally seems that it will happen. She hears him put down the papers and pick up the paddle. He steps into position behind her and she feels the paddle touch her bottom. She squints her eyes, clinches her bottom, and waits for what she knows will be unbelievable pain. Unfortunately for her, there is one more step in his process prior to paddling her bottom. While he has probably said less than a dozen words to her in the 10 minutes she has been in his office, this is not his chance to talk to her about what is going to happen and why. He starts with basic instructions and goes from there, “It is very important that you stay in this exact position for your entire paddling. The position is about more than me just having access to your butt for paddling it, it is also about safety. I will be swinging this paddle as hard as I can and we do not want it to hit anywhere other than your bottom. This is a thick and heavy piece of wood and if it hits anywhere else it could cause an injury. Yes, the goal is to create a tremendous amount of pain, as that is how lessons are learned in my office, but we need to do it in a safe manner. I will need your full cooperation throughout your paddling. I know this is going to hurt you a lot and I know it will be hard for you. There will be tears and it will be very difficult for you to endure, but it is your actions that led us to this moment. I am not the one who broke the rules but I am the one that enforces them. My goal today is to paddle your bottom in such a way that you will remember it for a long time. When you attempt, and I do mean attempt, to sit down for the next several days, I want you to think of this exact moment and give some very serious thought as to if you ever want it repeated.” He asks her if she understands and almost without fail he hears a gentle “yes sir” as he can tell that the tears have already started. Now it is time for the next step in the process.

It was her 1st assistant principal at the high school level. She had come up as an elementary teacher and then eventually achieved her Master’s degree in education, which finally led to a VP job at a small middle school. After four years as a middle school vice principal she finally was offered the same position at a high school one county over. Her goal was to become the school’s principal so this was a good step for her. The middle school she came from, while in the same city, did not use corporal punishment. It was legal in the state, but each district set its own rules. As the female vice principal her primary duty was to deal with discipline issues for the 10th-12th girls. She knew coming in that corporal punishment was widely used in this school, but only the VP’s could administer it. She had no issues with corporal punishment; in fact all of her children had been spanked at some point in their lives. One thing she did know was that she was not very good at applying it. Her husband was the primary spanker in their home as she just did not seem to be very effective with it. She had found out that the previous female VP handled corporal punishment herself and used it very often.

Her goal was to deal with discipline issues effectively and to reduce the amount of girls that found their way into her office. She knew that a paddling from her would not really make the impression that she was looking for so she explored her options. She looked into the details of the district’s corporal punishment policy and found that teachers were not allowed to apply corporal punishment in the classroom, but were not completely restricted from its use. A teacher could paddle a student in the presence of a school administrator. She asked around and no one could recall this ever happening as both the male and the female VPs had always handled the paddling of students. Something else that she discovered in the policy was that it was not mandatory for a female administrator to paddle a female student, but instead a “same sex witness” was required if a member of the opposite sex was being paddled. Armed with this new information, she formulated a plan.
Bending over and presenting her bottom and she has no idea what she is in for…she will be in tears after just one swat.
She approached the male baseball coach, as he was as big an intimidating of a teacher as there was on campus. She explained to him the corporal punishment policy and also let him know that her plan had been approved by the school principal. She proposed to him that in all instances in which she needed to sentence corporal punishment, that she did so, but delayed the punishment until the end of the week. She did not want to have to call him to her office every time a female student needed to be paddled. Instead, every Friday, during his conference period, she would summon all offenders to her office at which time he would join them. With her serving as the same sex witness, she would simply call in each girl one at a time, and he would give them a hard paddling. He asked her to clarify what she meant by a “hard paddling” and she informed him that she wanted him to smack their bottoms as hard as he could as her goal was for the word to spread and discipline issues in her office to be cut by 50% in the 1st month. She explained that many girls’ poor bottoms would pay the price, but as a result, many would be spared, as once the word spread amongst the female student population as to who was actually doing the paddling, she speculated that girls would be giving second thoughts to any behavior that would land them in the office. He told her that he would be happy to assist in any way she needed in her “spanking assembly line experiment”.
The coach paddles her bottom as hard as he can and breaks the paddle with the very 1st swat…a larger paddle will be required.
The 1st week of school went about as she expected which led to many young ladies in her office. There were always those new 10th graders making the adjustments to high school that were just goofing off and thinking they could get away with their juvenile behavior. There were a couple of dress code violations as it was still warm out and girls were trying to get away with short shorts. There was a two girl fight that seemed to be carried over from the previous year. She had one smoker, a few excessive tardies, and several girls who had skipped a class or two. In general, it was not that far different from her what she had dealt with at middle school. She was not a total hard ass and dealt with the issues as fairly as she could. Several girls received detention, a couple were sent home to change and also received detention, two girls spent their lunch hour cleaning the girl’s restroom, and various other minor punishments were assigned. Her smoker, the girls who had skipped class, and the girls who fought were all told they would be paddled. She was a little surprised at their reactions to the fact that they were to be paddled, as it did not seem to bother the girls all that much. Either they were used to it, got it at home often, or just did not see this VP as much of a threat with a paddle in her hand. They were all a little surprised when they were told to report to her office at the beginning of 3rd period on Friday, but with the exception of that bit of information, they seemed to take it in stride.
With the new paddle in hand he gives her a second severe swat. She does a little dance as her body is telling her to run…but she has 6 more severe swats to go.
On Friday morning she sent reminders to all of the girls’ 3rd period teachers that the girls would be late for class, or if they showed up for class, they were to report to the office immediately. In preparation she lined up 5 chairs outside her office door for each girl to wait in. After the second period ending bell, the girls started filing in. She instructed the secretary to have them take a seat and wait. They tried to laugh and joke a little, showing each other that they were not scared, while a couple were indeed quite nervous. Even with the new female VP administering the paddling, getting their butts spanked with a board did indeed hurt. But for the most part they were happy to not have to spend their time after school in detention and this was a much quicker and easier way to get their punishment over with. A few minutes after the 3rd period bell rang all of the girls were in their seats waiting.
One girl properly paddled and sent back out, while the next is brought in…four more butts to go.
The smiles and giggles turned to confusion when the big baseball coach arrived and walked into the VP’s office. They began to look at each other, but convinced themselves that he was there for an unrelated reason. A few minutes later, her office door opened and she appeared with a clipboard in hand. She called in the 1st girl and each girl shared a look as they realized the coach had not come back out. The 1st girl was shocked as she walked in and saw that the coach was holding a large wooden school paddle. The VP looked at the girl’s discipline slip and reminded her, and the coach, what the offense was. She announced that the girl would be getting 8 swats with the paddle. She had taped a line on the floor and asked the student, the one who had been caught smoking, to put her toes on the line and to bend over and place her hands on the wall. This student was in 10th grade and brand new to the high school system. She thought that smoking would be cool and she was about to find out in a very serious manner that there was nothing cool regarding what was about to happen. The coach and the VP changed places and he lined up behind the girl whose bottom was properly presented for her paddling. The coach asked if he should close the door and the VP told him that she had an open door policy. She wanted everyone, including those about to be paddled, to hear what happens in her office when a student’s butt is being paddled.
He has her adjust her position so her bottom is nice and tight and feels the full effect of very hard swats.
While the VP was not doing the paddling, she needed to emphasize that she was fully in control of these proceedings. She asked the coach to begin and stated that all eight swats needed to be “very hard” as she see smoking in school as a very big problem. He gave her a little smile and said “yes ma’am”. He liked this new VP and did not want to disappoint. His 1st inclination would not to have been to go full force on this little sophomore’s bottom, but he was thankful that there was an administrator who was willing to finally deal with a growing discipline problem in the school. Things had been the same for a very long time and he was happy to be part of the change. With the thought if making a real difference he lifted the paddle high in the air and brought it down as hard as he could swing. The sound was almost deafening in the tiny cinderblock office, even the girls outside waiting to be paddled jumped a little in their seats. Two things happened simultaneously as the paddle hit her tight little bottom. The first was the sound of her screaming at the top of her lungs and the second was the paddle breaking in half. Both he and the VP looked at each other as to ask “what now”. She quickly hurried to the male VP’s office and asked if she could borrow his paddle. The boys paddle was a little thicker and should not have the same issue. She walked back to her office and the look on the faces of the young ladies waiting to be paddled was much different that they had been 3 minutes before. She smiled and told them that she was sorry for the delay, but that they would get their bottoms paddled in just a few minutes.
He does not go easy on her and gives her teen bottom a paddling she will never forget.
She walked back into her office and the girl was still in place, but with tears streaming down her face. It seemed that 1st swat had really gotten the job done, seven more would certainly make the impression she was looking to leave. She handed the coach the thicker paddle and said “7 more, just like the 1st one please”. He took the paddle and got back to work. After the 2nd swat she yelled just a loudly and began to tremble. Her legs shook back and forth, almost like she was running in place. Her body was telling her to run but she knew she had no choice to suffer through 6 more severe swats to her already bruised bottom. The rest of the paddle swats were laid on fairly quickly. She screamed after each one and her crying grew louder. The sounds coming from the office had a big impact on the girl’s waiting in the chairs for their turn. They could not believe how loud the paddling was, they also could not believe how badly the 10th grade girl was crying. The two girls who had been fighting both knew they had ten swats coming and they were really starting to sweat it. One of the girls who had skipped a class was already in tears. She still got the belt on occasion at home from her dad, and it was never more than four or five strokes. There had not been a single strapping from her dad’s belt that did not leave her in tears and she wondered how she was going to react to the paddling she was listening to at the moment. She had not even had her turn and she was already promising herself and God that she would never miss another class.
Two bruised bottoms, three more students still need to be paddled.
When the 1st paddling was complete, she had the poor girl, who was sobbing uncontrollably stand up and go right back out and sit down. Before she had even left the office she called the next girl in. The three girls in the chairs could not even look at her as she sat down and buried her face in her hands. Her crying would last long after all the paddlings had been completed. One by one the process was the same as each girl was given a severe paddling and then sent back out to the main office to sit until all of the paddlings were complete. Each and every girl cried, there was really no avoiding it with a paddling of that intensity. Five girls in and five girls out, all in tears, and all with very bruised bottoms. When she had five very tearful girls in the chairs outside her office she walked out and told them all that this was the new reality in the school. She explained that she understands that they are teens and that they are going to push the boundaries a bit, but it needed to be clear that this would always be the results. She asked them to all tell their friends because this was the paddling that every female student could expect for misbehavior. With that said she sent the tearful girls back to the 3rd period class. She thanked the coach and told him how very much she appreciated his assistance. She then returned the paddle and walked down to the woodshop. She took the broken paddle with her and explained the problem she was having. She told him that she needed a paddle that was a little bit bigger, quite a bit thicker, and made from a harder wood. She said it would get less and less use over the next semester but that she wanted to be prepared for the worst case scenario. Three months later as she prepared for a Friday paddling, she only had to pull one chair in front of her office and it was the 1st paddling in three weeks.
